HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY TRE!

My Eyes Are Like Rockets,
Catching Each Fleeting Flick.
Nothing Can Escape Me,
I’m Cunning I’m Slick.
I Can Out Run A Wildcat,
Match It Bound For Bound.
It Would Take Forty Wranglers,
Just To Tie Me Down.
I Fear No Being.
I’m Brave and I’m Bold.
I’m King Of The Mountain,
I’m Two Years Old.
This picture is of Aaron when he turned two (almost 27 years ago). We loved this poem that was written by a fellow firefighter of Jim's which described Aaron perfectly...we have always kept this poem near this photo. And we feel is describes the energetic personality of Tre as well.

Tre,
I wanted to wish you a very Happy 2nd Birthday on March 18th… Papa & Nana will be out of town on your “real” birthday but we will be thinking about you. When you were born on March 18, 2007 I was so excited because you were born on my Grandma Hamblin’s birthday (107 years later). She was such a very special lady in my life, just as you are! I love the way you light up when you see your Papa & Nana and want to take us on a walk. I love the way you call Papa on his cell phone several times a day to talk. I love the excitement on your face when you show me the ABC’s. I love your curly red hair, just like your Daddy had, and the energetic-fireball personality that comes with it. I love the way you make friends and “join in” with anyone, no matter their age. You have added the greatest joy into your Daddy and Mommy’s lives and I love to watch them light up when they watch you or talk about you. You have added such great joy in Papa & Nana’s lives too. Papa and I will come celebrate your birthday with you when we get home from our trip. I love you so much Tre!!
Nana (and Papa says ditto)

MOM'S 80th BIRTHDAY PARTY...BARBARA McALLISTER HAMBLIN

This is one beautiful and special lady to all of her 7 children, their spouses, 25 grandchildren & their spouses, and 38 great-grandchildren...94 in all, so far! She is waiting for the arrival of her 39th & 40th great-grandchildren in the next few months. She is loved so much by all of us and by many other extended family and many friends!!
Mom's 7 kids (she had 4 girls first and then the 3 boys).
Mom's 7 children and spouses.

Mom and her two sisters Jean and Nancy, and the only remaining spouse (Uncle Gary)...who takes good care of them all, when they are together!

It was good to have Johnny & Jamie there...unfortunately, Jacob and Joey weren't able to come home from BYU.
We are so glad Becki was able to be there to share this night with us (Aaron had to work).

The night was so special with yummy food, beautiful decorations, a special dvd, music, a game of jeapardy (daughters against sons, I think the girls were the winners), and other special moments and tributes...lots of laughter and lots of tears!! We love this special lady so much!!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY BRODY!

Dear Brody,
It was one year ago today, just as I did with your big sister Carly, that I was able to witness your amazing entrance into this world. Your Papa Nelson and your Great-Grandma Hamblin were there as well for this joyful event! This was your great-grandma’s first time to see a birth after having her own 7 kids, 25 grandchildren, and nearly 40 great-grandchildren. It was truly an amazing day for all of us! You have brought so much additional joy into your "Da-Da" and "Ma-Ma’s lives. I love the way you and your little buddy Carly give each other the giggles and how she gets so concerned for you. I love to watch you play with your other little buddy Che…you can squeeze him, poke him, and pull him and he just licks you and loves you anyway. I love the way you wrinkle your nose all the time and I love your constant contagious smile you have, it can brighten anyone’s day. As your Mommy and Carly affectionately call you, you truly are our ray of “sunshine”. I love you so much Brody!!
Nana (and Papa, of course)
