OUR FUN & CRAZY 5 DAYS IN NEW YORK CITY

Times Square...such crazy fun and the best place in the world to people watch! We went to see Shrek right after the St Patrick's Day Parade...we were dressed appropriatly in green. It was such a cute musical!

St. Patrick's Day Parade...it's 6 hours long and was so captivating to watch. Thousands and thousands of police officers and firemen marched. I had to post my most favorite picture of all...the little boy marching with his Daddy! And the bagpipes...so so awesome, there were over 50 bagpipe groups. The man you see us with is Mike who is Jim's newest friend...he asked us to march in the parade with him. How does Jim get us into these ordeals?

We took a lot a time out to visit several 9-11 firefighter memorials/museums. There was always a very reverent feeling in each of these places...very emotional!

We had to take the train to and from the airport in Long Island. And we went everywhere on the Subway...Jim got pretty good at getting us where we needed to be...hopping on & off all the subways. I just followed because I was always confused. And where does one find a place to potty in New York City? I hardly drank anything on our whole trip because they were impossible to find!

Central Park...this was just one of the outdoor skating rinks in Central Park...we also saw the outdoor skating rink at Rockefeller Plaza. It was so much fun to "people watch" here too! We also went to the little zoo in Central Park.

We had so much fun watching the taping of Gossip Girl at the Plaza Hotel.

Museum of Natural History...an amazing place, a must see.

Empire State Building...unbelievable views of the city but the best part for me was feeding the pidgeons (Jim calls them rats with wings...we did really see rats where you get on the subway).

Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Loved hearing the stories of the immagrants coming to America.

Our hotel next to ground zero.

This is one of the spectacular views we saw from our hotel room...the Hudson River.

Another view from our hotel...the Brooklyn Bridge.

This is view we saw when we looked out our window, 44 stories down...at ground zero. This is what it looks like 7 1/2 years later...they are still looking for and finding DNA.

Jamie thinks she's the only one that can get me to jump on the bed at a hotel!:)

And to think he thought Jamie & I were crazy for jumping on the bed in Utah!

We were in New York City for 5 full days & went from early morning until late at night trying to get as much in as possible. We only wish we had another 5 days. It was a fantastic trip! Jim and I love to travel together and hope we have many more opportunities to do so! The weather was amazing...between 48-58 & not one drop of rain until the last day on the way to the airport. And China town...one crazy experience!!
